Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a skilled MRI technologist to perform high‑quality MRI exams while ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will collaborate with physicians and staff to follow orders and departmental protocols.

The role requires knowledge of MRI procedures and safety, IV contrast administration, and accurate documentation in EMR/PACS. A ARMRIT or ARRT MR certification, BLS, and at least 1 year radiology experience preferred.

Job Description:

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
• Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies).
• Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
