Job summary

AdventHealth Apopka is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI exams and ensure patient safety and comfort. The role requires knowledge of MRI procedures, scanners, and safety practices, with emphasis on accurate positioning and contrast administration where applicable.

You will educate patients, maintain clean exam rooms, and support the radiology team in a fast-paced environment. A minimum of an associate degree (preferred) and ARRT MRI certification/licensure is expected, with

• Associate degree preferred.

• ARRT MRI certification/licensure required or relevant credentials.

Responsibilities

• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
• Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably using immobilization and coil placement to ensure high-quality imaging.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.

Job Description

Schedule: PRN will work as needed, but I can guarantee Friday, Saturday and Sunday

• Ability to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail [Required]

• Ability to deal efficiently, ethically, and courteously with all patients and hospital personnel [Required]
• Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical personnel that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the organization [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]
