Job summary

AdventHealth in Celebration, FL is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI examinations per physician orders while ensuring patient safety and comfort. You will prepare exam rooms, position patients, administer IV contrast when indicated, and document results in EMR and PACS.

Requirements include ARMRIT or RT(MR) or ARRT certification and BLS, a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), and 1+ year radiology experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • ARMRIT or RT(MR) certification required or ARRT equivalent.
  • BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use; equipment cleaned and safety checks performed.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
  • Educates patients about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions.
  • Positions patients accurately using immobilization and coil placement techniques for high-quality imaging.
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines; monitors for adverse reactions.
  • Performs daily system quality control checks in compliance with policies.
  • Follows protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures.
  • Maintains documentation in EMR and PACS.
  • Performs high-quality MRI examinations per physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Reviews patient history to confirm exam appropriateness and contraindications.
  • Screens patients and equipment for MRI safety; completes required screenings.
  • Operates imaging equipment safely, adapting protocols for all ages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.

  • Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam.

  • Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging.

  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.

  • Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.

  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.

  • Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.

  • Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies).

  • Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation.

  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

  • Associate [Preferred]

Work Experience:
  • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) [Required]OR Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist RT(MR)(ARRT) [Required] AND

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:

$31.86 - $59.27
