Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking an MRI Technologist (Per Diem) to operate MRI equipment at Canton Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, NY. The role involves performing MRI procedures to provider orders and supporting MRI safety practices.

You will maintain NYS IV certification and collaborate with Radiologists on interventional MRI procedures while adhering to ARRT/ARMRIT guidelines and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Radiologic Technologist or MRI program.
• Registered with ARRT or ARMRIT; BLS (AHA) or obtaining within 3 months of hire.
• NYS IV certification per Article 35, Practice of Radiologic Technology, Section 3502.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures using anatomy, positioning and MRI techniques.
• Maintain NYS IV certification for MRI IV contrast administration when ordered.
• Assist Radiologist in MRI interventional procedures and provide images for interpretation.
• Follow MRI safety guidelines and educate staff on MRI safety.
• Comply with patient ID, education, consents, and order verification; infection control.
• Participate in QA/QC procedures and maintain image quality and documentation.

Job Title: MRI Tech - RegisteredStatus: Per DiemDepartment: Imaging ServicesLocation: Canton Potsdam Hospital - 50 Leroy Street Potsdam, NY 13676Schedule: Days/Evening, M-F, 12hrs, 630am-7pm, on call requirement

SUMMARY: Operates MRI equipment and ancillary support systems to perform MRI procedures per provider orders. This is in accordance with approved techniques, policies and regulatory standards as established by regulatory agencies, standards and policies set forth by the organization. Adheres to the professional standards of the NYS Department of Health and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs MRI procedures by utilizing the principles and knowledge of anatomy, positioning and MRI techniques.
• Maintains NYS IV certification for purposes of administering MRI IV contrast when ordered by Provider
• Assists Radiologist in the performance MRI interventional procedures and provides appropriate images for interpretation.
• Follows all regulatory and organizational guidelines for patient/staff screening and MRI Safety and provides MRI safety education to anyone who may have contact with the MRI equipment.
• Follows organizational standards to include but not limited to patient identification, patient education, consents, and order verification and infection control
• Participates in all QA/QC procedures as designated and maintains standards of these programs.
• This includes processes involving MRI equipment, image quality, documentation and MRI safety

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of either Radiologic Technologist or MRI program.
• Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) AHA-BLS, or obtain within 3 months of hire
• NYS IV certification-per Article 35-Practice of Radiologic Technology, Section 3502

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Formal Advanced modality specialty training
• Advanced Registry in MRI

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE

$37.47 - $55.62 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
