Rochester Regional Health is seeking an MRI Technologist at Unity Hospital for a part-time position. You will operate the MRI scanner, ensure patient safety and comfort, and produce high-quality diagnostic images.

The role requires ARRT MRI certification, NYS Radiologic Technology license (or eligibility), and BLS, with on-site training and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Job Title: MRI Technologist

Location: Unity Hospital

Hours Per Week: Part-time 20 hrs

Schedule: Tues & Sat 2:30 pm -10:30 pm

On-call: 1 week every 5 weeks; after hours

SUMMARY

As an MRI Technologist, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality greatly enhance the overall success of MRI imaging for diagnostic use in patient care in RRH Radiology. Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Equipment Operation. Perform a variety of routine and advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures while monitoring and maintaining essential patient safety under general supervision
• Patient Care. Maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients throughout the MRI area; educate patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam
• Documentation. Transfer imaging data for archiving and post-data processing; maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.
• ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) is required within 6 months of employment.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required, OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment. If hired on or before September 13, 2021, a NYS Injection Certification is required by September 1, 2022.
• BLS Certification within 6 months of employment
• New Graduates:
• An official transcript from an accredited school or a letter emailed directly from the school's registrar's office confirming program completion will be accepted upon graduation.
• Primary source education verification is required within 90 days of graduation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to work with various software applications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision‑making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE

$34.25 - $45.25

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
