Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Imaging Technologist (MRI) at St James Hospital to operate imaging equipment and produce diagnostic-quality images under Radiologist direction. You will implement safety protocols, manage patient records, and educate patients about procedures.

This full-time position requires ARRT certification, BLS within 60 days, and Montana licensure, with opportunities for ongoing education and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or diploma from a two-year college or technical school or minimum 6 months related experience and/or training.
• ARRT (R) certification is required.
• Additional Certification in at least one other modality within 18 months of hire.
• BLS within 60 days of hire.
• Current Montana Licensure is required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging equipment to produce quality images under radiologist direction.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Follow ARRT Standards of Ethics.
• Educate and explain imaging procedures to patients before procedures.
• Position patients and ensure safety for optimum image quality.
• Administer contrast media as required by radiologist guidance.
• Monitor patients during procedures.
• Practice radiation and magnetic field safety to minimize exposure.
• Participate in quality assurance and ongoing education.
• Assist with supply ordering and charges posting.
