Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an MRI Technologist to join our radiology team at St James Hospital. You will operate imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and follow ARRT standards while supporting physicians with quality diagnostic images.

This role requires ARRT (R) certification, Montana licensure, and the ability to educate patients on radiation safety. The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, with 8–10 hour shifts and rotating call; on-site in Montana.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Input Physician’s orders appropriately to patient’s records.
• Maintains patient confidentiality as outlined by privacy and HIPAA guidelines.
• Educates, interviews, screens and explains imaging and safety procedures to patients regarding the biological effects of radiation and/or magnetic field protection and safety prior to beginning any imaging procedure to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
• Positions patient on imaging table and utilizes immobilization devices as warranted for safety or to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body as requested by a Physician and following protocols developed by a Radiologist.
• Monitors patient during procedures either through direct contact, by the use of two-way voice communication or through control room window and/or closed circuit TV screen.
• Follows all applicable hospital policies and procedures.
• Follows policies and procedures for infection control and facility safety in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
