Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic (KOC) is seeking an organized MRI Front Desk to join our Imaging team. You will coordinate MRI appointments, ensure patients are prepared for exams, and communicate essential preparation instructions to patients, providers, and teams.

The ideal candidate communicates well, manages multiple priorities, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting while protecting patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Professional and courteous approach when communicating with patients, providers, and Team Members.
• Ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact, and sound judgment when assisting patients.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Schedule MRI studies accurately based on provider orders, patient needs, insurance requirements, facility availability, and protocols.
• Review MRI orders for completeness and accuracy prior to scheduling.
• Coordinate appointment dates and times, safety screening, authorizations, follow-ups, records, and imaging information as needed.
• Provide patients with clear instructions regarding MRI preparation, safety, arrival requirements, and expectations.
• Document scheduling activity and follow-ups in applicable systems.
• Identify safety concerns and route questions to Imaging Team Members as needed.
• Work with pre-certification and authorization teams to avoid delays.
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and teams.
• Research missing information and obtain clarification before finalizing appointments.
• Collaborate with clinical, Imaging, front-office, and scheduling teams to ensure a coordinated patient experience.
• Monitor queues, authorizations, and appointment requirements through completion.
