William & Mary is seeking a Moving & Events Services Worker to support faculty, students, staff, alumni, community organizations, and events across campus. The role focuses on providing moving and event services, loading and unloading furniture, setting up spaces, and ensuring safe, orderly operations.

The position requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift heavy loads, and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Formación

• Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively and understand others.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently on assigned tasks.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to respond, create and send emails.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly without assistance, and to lift and move over 75 lbs. with assistance and/or by using the appropriate tools.
• Ability to operate a forklift and heavy equipment.
• Demonstrated ability and skills to drive safely to and from destinations, following traffic regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Perform moving and event services activities as per work order requests.
• Assist with the maintenance of inventory records, logs, and other documentation.
• Load and unload furniture and equipment from campus facilities onto trucks.
• Manually move furniture and materials in the warehouse and other storage areas.
• Assemble and disassemble furniture, and make minor repairs.
• Transport materials to the appropriate destination.
• Assemble, set up, and break down furniture and event items, as requested and scheduled.
• Provide collection, transport, and cleanup support after events.
• Support department emergency recovery efforts.
• Work outside to remove snow, ice, and/or storm debris from entrances, steps, and sidewalks.
