Job summary

Lynn University is seeking a Mover to support the setup and breakdown of university events and general moving needs. The role involves loading/unloading, rearranging furniture, and maintaining inventory with emphasis on safety and following supervisor direction.

The position requires physical ability to lift and move heavy items, basic English comprehension, and flexibility to work varying hours as needed for events.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, move and stack tables, chairs and boxes of supplies.
• Be able to pull and push large furniture storage racks.
• Ability to climb a ladder for storage and event related purposes.
• Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; minimum 1 year of moving/ facilities/ general labor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads event-related furniture, props and materials onto and off trucks, ensuring padding and ropes are used to prevent damage.
• Relocates chairs, event tables and other furniture as instructed by supervisor(s).
• Sets up furniture for classrooms, residence halls and events on weekdays and occasionally on weekends or after hours.
• Maintains orderly storage areas and preserves university event inventory.
• Performs housekeeping duties to keep a clean, safe work environment and uses safety equipment correctly.
• Performs other duties assigned by Supervisor(s).
