Job summary

The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a part-time Motor Vehicle Examiner for the Customer Contact Center. The role handles inquiries about registrations, licenses, and appointments, using knowledge of statutes, regulations, and procedures.

Work is in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with calls, emails, and letters. Candidates should have clerical experience, strong customer service, and the ability to clearly explain DMV processes.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of clerical experience.
• One (1) year of general experience with front-line public contact and information provision or telephone customer service.
• College training may substitute for general experience on the basis of 15 semester hours = 1/2 year, up to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist customers with registrations, licenses, and title inquiries.
• Schedule appointments and process associated fees.
• Explain statutes, regulations, and procedures clearly to the public.
• Respond to inquiries via calls, emails, and letters.
• Maintain records and operate standard office equipment.
