Job summary

Modis is seeking a Motor Control Engineer for a client in St. Petersburg, FL, on a 6+ month contract. The ideal candidate will work with 8/16/32-bit MCUs to develop motor-control software for medical device manufacturing.

Responsibilities include defining software design principles, writing code, and performing unit and integration testing. Familiarity with Git and ALM tools (Azure DevOps or JIRA) is expected.

Qualifications

• Motor control experience with sensor and sensorless BLDC and DC motors.
• Strong testing skills: static analysis, unit, and integration testing; white/black box.
• Understanding of design and design testing principles.
• Familiarity with version control and lifecycle tools.

Responsibilities

• Define software design principles and write code for motor control.
• Understand firmware functionality of 8/16/32-bit MCUs.
• Build high-quality software with requirements, architecture, and unit/integration tests.
• Work with cross-functional teams and follow department processes.
