Job summary

Modis is seeking a Software/Firmware Design Engineer for a contract role in St. Petersburg, FL. You will design, develop, and verify software for embedded processors, defining software design principles, writing code, and ensuring firmware functionality across 8/16/32-bit MCUs.

Coordinate with teams to deliver high-quality software on time. The role requires strong C, C++, and C# skills, motor control experience, and hands-on testing across static analysis, unit/integration, and white/black box

Qualifications

• Strong in C, C++, C#.
• Motor control with sensor and sensorless BLDC and DC motors.
• Strong testing with Static analysis, Unit and integration and white and black box testing.
• Scripting for test Python.
• Understanding of Design and Design testing principles.
• Git and use of Application Life cycle tools like Azure Devops or JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Develop, verify, and document software for embedded processors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality and product reliability.
• Write clear documentation related to software design, testing, and verification.
• Develop and execute software verification tests to ensure product stability and performance.
• Identify, document, and mitigate software issues on a unit level and contribute to risk management.
