Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Mother/Baby unit, working part-time evenings (20 hours per week). This role supports unit operations including reception, clerical tasks, medical records, and patient registration while delivering patient-centered service.

Collaborating with the charge nurse and manager, you will communicate with patients and families, coordinate with other departments, and help maintain accurate census, timely information, and smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Performs unit-based reception, clerical, medical record and patient registration.
• Manages overall unit workflow with the charge RN and/ or assistant manager.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and staff.
• Coordinates all work with the Manager and Charge Nurse.
