Job summary

Regions Hospital is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Birth Center. You will be the first point of contact on the unit, providing exceptional customer service while handling clerical tasks and coordinating care between staff and patients.

The role supports Labor & Delivery, Post Partum/Newborn Nursery, and Special Care Nursery, with training on the electronic health system during onboarding. Night shift, 0.8 FTE, 64 hours per two-week pay period, 8-hour shifts, and every other weekend.

Qualifications

• 1 year clerical or healthcare experience or recent graduate of a related program.
• Must have strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to use office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact on the unit and provide exceptional customer service.
• Perform clerical/receptionist duties on the patient unit.
• Organize and maintain unit supplies and patient records.
• Enter data into the electronic health system accurately.
• Communicate between staff, patients, families, and other departments.
• Work under the supervision of the nurse manager/charge nurse.
