Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years Government Underwriting or equivalent experience.
• DE approved highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage underwriting guidelines (FHA/VA/Conventional).
• Experience with mortgage loan origination systems.

Responsibilities

• Review loan packages for compliance with policies and FHA/VA guidelines.
• Exercise loan approval authority up to corporate limits.
• Analyze and verify residential appraisals for accuracy.
• Provide guidance to Sales and Processing teams on underwriting standards.
• Respond to post-closing, insurance and audit reviews promptly.
• Support the underwriting team to meet productivity and turn-time goals.
