Job summary

First Interstate Bank seeks a Mortgage Processing Support Specialist in a hybrid role based at our Sioux Falls Downtown branch. You will manage appraisal orders, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinate with appraisers throughout the loan processing cycle.

Responsibilities include HMDA reporting, TRID disclosures, invoicing, and maintaining clear documentation to support the closing team. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years mortgage experience and a solid regulatory knowledge base.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Appraisal Independence Requirements.
• Strong knowledge of TRID.
• Strong knowledge of Regulation B.
• Strong knowledge of HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act).

Responsibilities

• Order appraisals promptly after client communication via the appraisal software system.
• Facilitate communication between First Interstate Bank and appraisers to meet Appraisal Independence Requirements.
• Serve as liaison to ensure appraisal concerns and discrepancies are resolved.
• Maintain appraisal queues in the LOS and follow up on past-due appraisals.
• Submit appraisal invoices to Accounts Payable and document LOS for closing disclosures.
• Gather needed documents to add appraisers to the approved list and route for review.
• Support Sales and Operations with appraisals, HMDA, third-party service ordering, and invoice payments.
• Process adverse action files in the Mortgage LOS and ensure timely borrower notifications.
