Job summary

Hancock Whitney in Mobile, AL is seeking a Mortgage Origination professional to originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA and RD loans in compliance with investor requirements and laws.

You will promote bank products to clients and build a referral network, manage loan pipelines, and coordinate with processors, underwriters and closers while delivering required disclosures in a timely fashion. Strong communication and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 2 years of sales experience required
• 2+ years of Mortgage origination experience is preferred
• NMLS registration under the SAFE Act is required after employment and annual renewal thereafter
• Knowledge of Mortgage laws and regulations across federal/state/local levels
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; Outlook email

Responsibilities

• Provides expert mortgage advice to potential borrowers
• Develops and maintains referral networks with Realtors and external sources
• Manages a clean pipeline of loans coordinating with processors, underwriters and closers
• Delivers all compliance documents and disclosures in a timely manner
• Interviews loan applicants to document income, debt, and credit history
• Coordinates closing with borrowers, closing agents, Realtors and others
• Keeps bank associates updated on industry changes and maintains product knowledge
• Complies with Bank Secrecy Act and other laws
