Job summary

Hancock Whitney in Ridgeland, MS is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA and RD products. You will promote bank products to clients, gather documentation, and coordinate with processors, underwriters, and closers to move loans to closing.

The role requires 2+ years of mortgage origination experience, NMLS registration, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
2 years of sales experience required.
2+ years of Mortgage origination experience preferred.
NMLS registration under the SAFE Act required upon employment.
Knowledge of mortgage laws, procedures, and regulations.
Proficiency with MS Office and email applications.
Excellent communication, analytical, customer service and organizational skills.
Ability to work with all levels of personnel.
Strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Provide expert mortgage advice to potential borrowers.
Develop and maintain referral networks with realtors, builders and community sources.
Manage a clean loan pipeline coordinating with processors, underwriters and closers.
Explain closing costs and coordinate the closing process with all parties.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws including Bank Secrecy Act.
Keep stakeholders updated on loan status and changes in industry guidelines.
