Job summary

Equity Bank in Wichita, Kansas seeks a Director of Mortgage Operations to lead processing, closing, post-closing and servicing delivery, ensuring efficiency, compliance and quality. The role partners with sales, underwriting, risk and compliance to align priorities and optimize performance.

This senior position requires extensive mortgage operations experience and strong leadership to drive a fast-paced, high-volume operation that delivers excellent borrower experiences and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred.
• Advanced degree or relevant industry certifications a plus.
• 10 years of mortgage operations experience across processing, underwriting, closing, servicing or leadership.
• 5 years of leadership experience managing mortgage operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations, investor guidelines and servicing practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational strategies to support mortgage objectives.
• Oversee processing, closing, post-closing and servicing delivery.
• Set performance standards and monitor productivity, cycle times and service levels.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and technology.
• Partner with Mortgage Sales, Underwriting, Risk, Compliance and leadership to align priorities.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements; manage quality control and audits.
• Manage budgets, staffing plans, and capacity; monitor cost per loan and service delivery.
• Lead, coach and develop a high performing mortgage operations team.
