Job summary

TD Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer Sales Assistant II in Fort Lee, New Jersey to support day-to-day sales activities of Mortgage Loan Officers (MLO). You will act as the main contact for customers, sourcing agents, vendors, and mortgage operations, resolving issues and driving a smooth loan process.

The role involves handling loan applications, document collection, pipeline management, client communications, and coordination with underwriting to ensure timely closings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-3 Years of related experience.
• Strong understanding of underwriting and mortgage guidelines.
• Exceptional interpersonal and sales skills for following up with prospective borrowers.
• Knowledge of mortgage laws and regulations including HOEPA, RESPA, and Reg Z.

Responsibilities

• Assists high producing loan officers in the effective and timely completion of loan applications.
• Actively manages the document collection process from origination to closing.
• Manages the Mortgage Loan Officers pipeline, including tracking of all deliverables and updating borrowers on loan status.
• Works with customers to set expectations including rate inquiries, third party providers, loan status and other information deemed necessary.
• Confirms appointments and reviews with customer all documents needed at time of application to ensure efficiency.
• Facilitates application process by interfacing with customers in taking full or partial applications.
• Discusses products and pricing at the request of the loan officer.
• Reviews files to foreshadow issues related to income/assets and remedies before underwriting.
• Assists in structuring deals to meet underwriting guidelines.
• Advocates for client file through underwriting escalation when necessary.
• Writes credit memos summarizing the lending request.
