Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years of related mortgage experience.
• Strong understanding of underwriting and mortgage guidelines.
• Exceptional interpersonal and sales skills for following up with prospective borrowers.
• Knowledge of mortgage lending, products, policies and procedures.
• Proficient with basic mortgage loan origination systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Assists high producing loan officers in the effective and timely completion of loan applications.
• Manages the document collection process from origination to closing.
• Manages the Mortgage Loan Officers pipeline and updates borrowers on status.
• Interacts with customers regarding rate inquiries, third party providers, and loan status.
• Confirms appointments and reviews documents needed at application.
• Facilitates application process by assisting with full or partial applications.
• Communicates product pricing and guidelines as needed.
• Reviews files to foresee issues and resolve before underwriting.
• Assists in structuring deals to meet underwriting guidelines.
• Advocates for client files during underwriting escalation when needed.
• Writes credit memos explaining unique circumstances.
