Job summary

Coastal Community Federal Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor in Texas to manage loan files from application to closing. You will coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and borrowers to collect documents, verify information, and resolve conditions so loans close on schedule.

This full-time role requires 2+ years of mortgage processing experience, familiarity with TRID/RESPA regulations, and proficiency in Encompass.

Qualifications

• 2+ years processing residential mortgage loans preferred; experience with conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA programs a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or relevant certification preferred.
• NMLS or mortgage-processing certifications are advantageous but not required.
• Proficiency with loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass) and MS Office.
• Familiarity with TRID, RESPA, ECOA, and other mortgage regulations.

Responsibilities

• Open, organize, and maintain loan files in the loan origination system.
• Request, receive, and verify borrower documents and ensure they meet program guidelines.
• Order and review credit reports, appraisals, title work, flood certifications, and verifications of employment and assets.
• Track underwriting conditions; prepare and submit clear, well-documented responses to underwriter requests.
• Serve as primary point of contact for borrowers, loan officers, real estate agents, and third-party vendors; provide timely status updates.
• Ensure files comply with federal and state requirements and internal policies; maintain audit trails.
• Prepare closing packages, coordinate with escrow/title, and confirm funding instructions and disbursements.
• Review files for completeness and accuracy prior to closing; identify and elevate potential issues.
• Maintain pipeline reports and contribute to metrics such as turn times, clear-to-close rates, and closing accuracy.
