Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate self-generated residential mortgages and build referral networks in the Fresno, Riverside, and Reno markets. The role emphasizes outside sales, relationship-building with real estate professionals, and strict adherence to lending regulations.

The candidate will interview borrowers, analyze income, assemble complete loan packages, and guide them through disclosures, underwriting, and closing.

Qualifications

• 2 years — Previous mortgage self-generated origination/sales and structuring experience (Required)
• Demonstrated knowledge of home lending processes including processing, underwriting, closing and funding
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop sustainable referral sources and generate leads
• Must be registered as a MLO per the SAFE Act requirements
• Authorized to act as Bank MLO for closed-end and related activities

Responsibilities

• Originate self-generated residential mortgage loans
• Develop business through relationships with real estate professionals and other referral sources
• Interview borrowers to analyze financial and credit data and determine financing objectives
• Provide thorough, compliant disclosures and documentation for loan processing
• Manage loan file through underwriting, closing, funding and post-closing
• Adhere to bank policies, regulations and training requirements
• Educate customers on lending programs and product options
