Job summary

Columbia Bank seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to originate self-generated residential loans by building relationships with real estate professionals and other referral sources. The role emphasizes managing the loan file from application to post-closing while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The candidate should have 2+ years of self-generated origination experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop sustainable referral networks.

Qualifications

• 2 years of mortgage self-generated origination/sales and structuring experience.
• Knowledge of home lending industry including processing, underwriting, closing and funding.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Experience collecting and analyzing borrower income and negotiating skills.
• Ability to develop and sustain referral sources.

Responsibilities

• Originate residential mortgages self-generated via relationships and referrals.
• Coordinate processing, underwriting, closing and funding through to post-closing.
• Meet production standards and participate in training and compliance.
• Advise borrowers on product pricing and guidelines and collect required documents.
• Maintain knowledge of lending programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
