Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to promote business development and originate loans. You will manage client relationships, educate applicants on financing options, and coordinate with sales and operations to move loans from application to closing.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and MLO licensing as required. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, and bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• 1–2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
• Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator as required by state.
• General mortgage banking understanding including lock procedures, program analysis, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory timelines.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Interview mortgage applicants to educate them on financing options and goals.
• Be accessible to buyers and involved parties to answer questions and provide updates.
• Maintain reports and notes in origination software and CRM.
• Review new leads daily and contact them to earn business.
• Manage daily loan pipeline from application to funding.
• Present loan products in sales meetings and builder communities.
• Provide timely disclosures in accordance with regulations.
• Occasionally assist with post-closing/funding problems and attend closings.
