Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator in our Branch Department. You will oversee loan origination, develop business with builders and clients, and manage relationships from application to closing.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 1–2 years of mortgage-related experience, a valid driver's license, and active MLO licensing. Proficiency with MS Office and CRM tools is expected in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
• Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator as required by state.
• Possess general mortgage banking understanding (including but not limited to: lock procedures, program analysis, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory timelines).
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Interview mortgage applicants to understand and educate them on financing options.
• Be accessible to the buyer and individuals involved in a loan to answer questions and/or provide updates.
• Maintain reports and notes within origination software and CRM systems.
• Review new leads daily and contact them to earn their business.
• Daily Pipeline Management from application to funding to ensure a smooth process.
• Make presentations on loan products in sales meetings with builder communities.
• Respond to Operations to facilitate an efficient loan process.
• Provide necessary disclosures to a loan applicant in a timely manner per regulations.
• Market the company’s products to potential business sources.
• Develop sales leads for mortgages in builder communities and real estate offices.
• Provide weekend coverage in builder communities and grand openings.
• Review documents for accuracy and address discrepancies.
• Attend meetings and participate in management input.
