Job summary

NBT Bank is seeking a collections specialist to contact delinquent consumer and residential mortgage accounts, research payments, and resolve issues with customers and branch staff. The role involves reviewing collateral and recommending next steps to protect the bank's interests.

You will work evenings as required, use Word and Excel, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers in a fast-paced banking environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contact past due consumer and residential mortgage accounts for payment (80%).
• Recommend accounts for foreclosure, repossession or legal actions and review with supervisors.
• Research misposted or lost payments and ensure timely procedures to exercise bank rights.
