Busey Bank is seeking a Collections Specialist to contact delinquent borrowers by phone, letter, and email, assess their financial situations, and determine remedies to bring accounts current. The role involves negotiating ACH payments, deferments, or modifications while aiming to exceed collection goals.

Requires a high school diploma and banking/collection experience; English and Spanish bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review loan portfolios for past due accounts and other problems.
• Make collection calls and document all customer conversations and repayment plans.
• Gather information to identify workout situations and evaluate deferments or modifications.
• Collect and review financial information from borrowers for consideration of remedies.
• Prepare loan modifications requests for approval and present to Special Assets Manager.
• Work with attorneys and outside professionals as needed.
• Prepare and review various reports.
