Cart.com in the United States is seeking an experienced Merchant of Record (MoR) Accountant to own end-to-end MoR accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in payment processing, settlements, tax compliance, and financial reconciliations.

You will drive controls, partner with providers, and support month-end close while maintaining robust financial discipline. The role requires strong accounting fundamentals and a detail‑oriented, fast‑paced mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 3–7 years in payments operations, merchant services, accounting, or related.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, settlements, and financial controls.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills and large dataset analysis.
• Working knowledge of SQL and analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Own MoR accounting operations across supported brands.
• Review/approve high-value transactions and settlements per thresholds.
• Monitor and resolve payment exceptions, holds, and refunds.
• Maintain transaction-level review processes to prevent revenue leakage.
• Liaise on payment processing, settlements, tax, and financial reporting.
• Perform reconciliations between payment platforms and GL.
• Support month-end close, journal entries, and reporting.
• Improve control processes and pursue automation opportunities.
