Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a GN&C engineer to join the Lunar Permanence unit in Seattle. You will develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for a multi-vehicle simulation using Simulink and C/C++, and verify subsystem requirements through analyses, tests, and simulations.

The role involves participating in tool development, hardware‑in‑the‑loop or software‑in‑the‑loop testing, and collaboration across disciplines to ensure system safety and mission readiness.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
• Applied industry experience and/or M.S. or Ph.D. focused on GN&C.
• Experience modeling GN&C components via simulation, testing, or analytical methods.
• Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and basic physics.
• Hands‑on with testing frameworks and CI pipelines such as GitLab.
• Knowledge in control, navigation, and astrodynamics fundamentals.
• Experience designing Monte Carlo simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, and software-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience in configuration and product data management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in development of tools to design, build, deploy and support the simulation infrastructure.
• Develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for multi-vehicle simulation using Simulink and C/C++.
• Define, develop, and execute simulations for verification of subsystem functionalities.
• Perform analyses and trades in development and verification of subsystem requirements.
• Assist in development of GN&C algorithms and flight software.
• Support verification and testing to ensure subsystem compliance with requirements.
• Interact with engineers across disciplines to validate models.
