Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council's Montessori Magnet is seeking a Behavior Technician to support students with behavioral and academic needs. You will implement BIPs under certified staff, observe progress, and help create a calm, productive classroom environment.

You will work one-on-one or in small groups, assist with math, reading, and writing as directed, document progress, and collaborate with teachers and the intervention team. Some crisis management training is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist students by implementing behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) under certified staff.
• Observe and document student behaviors, providing feedback to the intervention team.
• Use de-escalation techniques to create a calm classroom environment.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students needing behavioral guidance.
• Provide support in math, reading, and writing as directed by teachers.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff for consistent student support.
• Monitor and document progress on academic tasks and report to the teacher.
• Maintain accurate records of behavioral and academic progress.
• Complete annual crisis management training requirements.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
