Capitol Region Education Council is seeking a Behavior Technician to support students with behavioral and academic needs. You will implement behavioral plans, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers to create a positive learning environment.

The role involves de-escalation, data collection, and delivering targeted academic assistance under supervision, with opportunities for professional development and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in managing behavior using BIPs under guidance of certified staff.
• Observe and document student behaviors, providing data to the intervention team.
• Use de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm, focused classroom environment.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students needing behavioral guidance.
• Provide support in math, reading, and writing as directed by teachers.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure consistent student support.
• Monitor and document progress, providing feedback to teachers.
• Maintain records of behavioral and academic progress for reporting.
• Complete annual crisis management training and comply with policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
