Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group seeks a Mohs Medical/Surgical Assistant to support physicians in surgical and medical settings. You will provide compassionate, safe patient care from exam to post-op, including wound care and informed consent processes.

Responsibilities include assisting during Mohs procedures, documenting in the EHR, preparing rooms and instruments, and coordinating care with patients and pharmacies. Occasional travel to network offices is possible.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in a medical setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of sterile technique and anatomy
• Knowledge of medications
• Detail oriented with professional attitude
• Familiarity with EHR systems and proper documentation
• Understanding of HIPAA guidelines
• Some offices may require travel

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during exams, surgery, and treatment
• Review medical history and confirm purpose of visit
• Escort patient to exam or surgical room
• Review and obtain surgical informed consent
• Take and document photographs and vital signs
• Prepare sterile surgical tray and assist during Mohs surgery
• Prepare patients and instruments for procedures
• Document procedures and results in the EHR
• Coordinate post-operative wound care instructions
• Schedule appointments and coordinate additional care
