DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Mohs Medical/Surgical Assistant to support medical doctors in both surgical and medical dermatology settings. You will provide safe, compassionate care, assist during Mohs procedures, document patient histories and test results, and help educate patients on post-wound care.

The role involves preparing sterile trays, obtaining informed consent, and coordinating care with the EHR system while upholding HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifikationen

• 1+ year experience in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with sterile technique, anatomy, and medications.
• Detail oriented with professional attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support a collaborative team.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with good grammar and spelling.
• Understanding of HIPAA guidelines.

Aufgaben

• Serve as a patient advocate during exam, surgery and treatment.
• Review medical history and confirm purpose of visit.
• Escort patient to exam or surgical room.
• Obtain surgical informed consent prior to procedure.
• Take appropriate photographs and document findings in the EHR.
• Prepare sterile surgical tray and assist during Mohs surgery as directed.
• Record vitals and medical history, medications, allergies, and lab results in the EHR.
• Manage and prepare specimens for testing; assist physician during procedures.
• Provide post-procedure care instructions and educate patients.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR and communicate with pharmacies.
• Scribe surgical and office visits and maintain sterile environment.
