Job summary

U.S. Dermatology Partners is seeking a Mohs Medical/Surgical Assistant to support licensed physicians in clinic and outpatient surgical settings. You will provide patient-centered care, perform sterile prep, assist in Mohs procedures, and manage post-care instructions.

You will travel to Plano, Dallas, and Corsicana to support dermatology operations, document in the EHR, and help ensure safe, efficient patient care across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Interview surgery patients to obtain medical information.
• Measure patients' vital signs, weight and height.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, vital signs and test results in an EHR.
• Set up sterile surgical trays and maintain sterile field.
• Assist physician during Mohs surgery under surgeon direction.
• Explain procedures, medications, diets and wound care to patients.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient advocate during exams, surgery and treatment.
• Review surgical informed consent with the patient prior to procedure.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Assist during surgery: help with instruments, cautery devices and suturing.
• Collect blood or tissue specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Coordinate scheduling for Mohs surgery and clinic appointments.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR and communicate with pharmacies.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain sterile technique throughout.
