U.S. Dermatology Partners is seeking a Mohs Medical/Surgical Assistant to support licensed physicians in clinic and outpatient surgical settings. You will ensure safe, compassionate care and act as a patient advocate throughout exams and procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, maintaining sterile technique, collecting specimens, coordinating schedules, and documenting in the EHR. Experience in dermatology and EMA is preferred; strong communication skills are essential.

Formación

• One year of experience in a medical setting is required.
• Six months or more in a dermatology surgery setting is required.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Prior EMA experience is preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including basic EHR input.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as a patient advocate during exams, surgery and treatment.
• Interview surgery patients to obtain medical information.
• Measure patients’ vital signs, weight and height.
• Review a surgical informed consent with the patient prior to their procedure.
• Record patients’ medical history, medications, allergies, vital signs and test results in the EHR.
• Assist the physician during surgery while maintaining sterile field.
• Properly numb a patient’s skin using local anesthetics as directed by the physician.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician following safety protocol.
• Explain surgical/treatment procedures, medications, diets, and wound care instructions.
• Explain and comfort patients regarding healing times for wounds and locations.
• Assist physicians in patient care and instrument handling during procedures.
• Input information into the EHR accurately and timely.
• Handle appointments and coordinate surgical and clinic visits.
