Job summary

APDerm Network of Practices is seeking a Surgical Assistant who supports Mohs procedures by handling instruments, maintaining sterility, and assisting with pathology processing. The role includes traveling to regional locations for coverage and ensuring patient flow in a dermatology setting.

The candidate will perform injections when needed, manage supplies, and uphold OSHA, HIPAA, and safety standards across clinics. Strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent.
• Two years of outpatient surgery center or Mohs dermatology experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Mohs surgeon by providing and controlling instruments during Mohs stages.
• Open sterile supplies and set up for each procedure.
• Perform medical assisting duties including vital signs and assisting during excisions and Mohs procedures.
• Dosing and mixing medications for procedures.
• Sterilize and package instruments; aseptic technique and room turnover.
• Document in EMR and manage pathology logbook.
