Job summary

KPIT in Lisle, Illinois seeks an automotive control engineer to develop advanced control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink and C. You will elicit requirements, analyze systems, and coordinate with clients and offshore teams to deliver engineering work products on schedule.

Responsibilities include DFMEA, safety analyses, unit testing, HiL testing, and end-to-end traceability using JIRA, Polarion, and GitLab. You will work in an Agile environment with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong MATLAB/Simulink and Model-Based Development experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming and Python.
• Experience in automotive control system development.
• Knowledge of torque and speed control systems.
• Experience with conventional and electric vehicle powertrain systems.
• Experience with functional safety concepts (ISO 26262 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink and C.
• Coordinate with clients and offshore teams to deliver engineering work products on time.
• Gather requirements for vehicle functions across conventional and electric platforms.
• Develop torque and speed control systems for powertrains.
• Review and approve system engineering work artifacts.
• Perform DFMEA and safety analysis for control systems.
• Ensure traceability using JIRA, Polarion, GitLab, and other tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on releases and issue resolution.
• Participate in Agile processes including PI planning and daily standups.
• Conduct root cause analysis and field issue investigations.
• Present engineering solutions to product management teams.
• Review HiL tests and DVP&R documents.
