Job summary

Caterpillar seeks a Control Systems Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded control features for Caterpillar products, with a focus on electrohydraulic controls and model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink.

You will lead implementation, testing, and debugging of embedded software, collaborating with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality control solutions across MiL/SiL/HiL environments.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience with requirements, software specification, and workflow management.
• Well-versed in version control and configuration management tools for software development.
• Proficiency with AUTOSAR and generating AUTOSAR-compliant code from Simulink.
• Knowledge of software testing methods like Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop.

Responsibilities

• Gather product and system requirements to specify control system requirements and collaborate with clients for post-production support.
• Design embedded control systems to meet functional and system requirements, supporting AUTOSAR initiatives.
• Lead implementation and delivery of software components to meet design specs with strong QA, primarily model-based in Simulink.
• Test, tune and debug embedded software using MiL/SiL/HiL and on-machine testing to optimize performance and quality.
• Collaborate with clients and partner teams to provide post-production support.
