Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Trailer Technician II to support on-site maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on trailers and equipment. You will document work on RO, manage parts, and operate company tools and TRAIT app, with supervision for advanced tasks.

Role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and customer communication, including pre/post-trip checks and adherence to FMCSA/DOT regulations. This is a full-time on-site position in Michigan.

Qualifications

Knowledge of trailer parts and systems and their maintenance.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical components.
Commitment to safety practices and compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections with minimal supervision.
Document work and upload RO details using TRAIT app.
Carry out repairs on trailer brake systems, air lines, engines and ancillary equipment.
Accurately complete DOT forms and repair documentation in a timely fashion.
Communicate with customers and management to provide updates and obtain approvals.
