Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician II for on-site work at customer sites. You'll perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trailers. Work involves diagnosing electrical issues, brakes, weld/fabrication, and coordinating with the service team.

You will operate from a service truck, maintain safety standards, document work in the TRAIT system, and assist senior technicians as needed. This is an on-site role with regular field responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years' trailer experience.
• Own set of hand tools and toolbox; able to perform required duties.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations compliance and safety training.
• CDL Class C license required.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• ASE T8 certification within 18 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment, including DOT inspections.
• Document work and parts used using the TRAIT app on an iOS device.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components, brakes, and other trailer systems.
• Manage parts inventory and work independently on a mobile service truck.
• Ensure safety practices and DOT compliance in all tasks.
• Communicate with customers and support teams to discuss RO findings and approvals.
