Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Trailer Repair Technician I to work in a mobile/field capacity, performing scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs on trailers and related systems. The role involves independent scheduling, parts procurement, and documenting work via a company iOS device and TRAIT app.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, up to 2 years in a related field, and valid CDL/DOT readiness. Training, safety programs, and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge or compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on trailers and equipment in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailers and systems (brakes, air lines, pumps, engines, liftgates, brake chambers).
• Document work using Repair Orders via iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation in timely fashion; follow safety procedures.
• Manage parts inventory and operate company vehicle; conduct safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with management and customers to discuss RO findings and procurement.
• Establish relationships with customers and vendors; adhere to policies and ethics.
