Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Trailer Repair Technician II to perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on trailers and equipment in a mobile/field setting. The role requires strong diagnostic skills and ability to document work using TRAIT on an iOS device.

The candidate will manage parts, coordinate with management, and ensure safety procedures are followed while operating a company vehicle. DOT compliance and interstate travel are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related trailer experience.
• DOT certifications and/or FMCSA requirements preferred.
• Experience performing maintenance and DOT inspections on trailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs with minimal supervision.
• Document work on Repair Orders using TRAIT app and upload photos.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components on trailers and equipment.
• Independently manage parts inventory and use company service truck.
• Respond to call center dispatches for unscheduled service requests.
