Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Teller - Float to serve as the first point of contact for clients at our Salem, Oregon branches. You will perform teller transactions, handle cash securely, and travel within a geographic area to cover staffing needs as directed by management.

You will work under supervision to maintain branch integrity, support product referrals, and stay knowledgeable about bank offerings to meet customers’ financial needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• 1 year of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
• Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions.
• Consistently demonstrates ability and willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.

Responsibilities

• Always performs teller transactions and cash handling functions for clients with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Accurately performs and supports daily tasks that maintain the integrity of the branch.
• Mitigate risk by ensuring safekeeping of money in cash drawer and prompt accounting or transfer of funds.
• Interacts with external and internal clients, anticipates needs, and provides proactive solutions.
• Continuously deepens knowledge of Columbia Bank's product and service offerings.
• Discuss and uncover customer’s financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services.
• Supports referral goals for branch by focusing and identifying and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.
