Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Technician II to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and power equipment at customer sites or rail yards.

You will operate a mobile service truck, troubleshoot ABS systems, and document work orders while adhering to safety protocols. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance experience, welding or forklift certifications, and the ability to work outdoors and across shifts, including

Qualifications

• 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
• Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
• Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs, including tire replacements, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics and basic structural repairs on tractor or trailer equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair ABS system
• Properly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventory
• Assist with the onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician trainees
• Follow all safety requirements while onsite and at customer locations
