Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Technician II to perform intermediate service and repair of tractors, trailers, and related equipment at customer sites or rail yards.

This field-based role operates the mobile service truck under routine supervision. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, tire and brake work, electrical diagnostics, welding, completing work orders, and documenting repairs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21+ with 2 years in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance.
• Appropriate certifications or military equivalent may apply.
• Ability to supply basic tools or use toolbox purchase program.
• Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors/trailers.
• Troubleshoot and repair ABS systems and electrical components.
• Operate the mobile service truck and manage truck inventory.
• Assist with mentoring tractor technician trainees.
• Complete work orders and document repairs.
• Demonstrate cutting torch and welding skills for mid-level chassis repairs.
