Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Technician II to perform intermediate service and repairs on tractors, trailers, and related equipment at customer sites and rail yards using our mobile service truck.

This role operates outside of the shop with routine supervision and emphasizes safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate has 2 years of semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance experience, a clean MVR, and willing to work across shifts in varying outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair
• Clean motor vehicle record per JB Hunt guidelines
• Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through toolbox program
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors/trailers including tire replacements and brake work
• Troubleshoot ABS systems and electrical diagnostics
• Operate mobile service truck and manage truck inventory
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring tractor technician trainees
• Follow all safety requirements onsite and at customer locations
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately
• Document equipment damage to estimate repair costs
• Demonstrate cutting torch and welding for mid-level repairs on chassis and frames
• Patch holes on trailer or container panels and roofs
• Perform annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under supervision
