Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Mobile Technician II to perform intermediate service and repair on tractors, trailers, and related equipment at customer sites or rail yards using a mobile service truck.

You will troubleshoot ABS, handle wiring diagnostics, operate the mobile unit, and mentor junior technicians while following safety procedures and completing paperwork accurately.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older for vehicles up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years for heavier equipment with 2 years of semi-tractor/semi-trailer maintenance experience.
• Clean motor vehicle record per company guidelines and able to supply basic tools or purchase through toolbox program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements and across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends if needed.
• Preferred welding and DOT/FHWA inspection experience and related certifications when available.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers, including tires and brakes.
• Troubleshoot ABS systems and electrical issues with diagnostic tools.
• Operate the mobile service truck and manage truck inventory at customer sites or rail yards.
• Document work orders, estimate repair costs and patch structural damage as needed.
• Demonstrate welding and cutting skills to repair chassis, frames, panels and roofs.
• Participate in DOT and FHWA inspections and ensure safety compliance onsite.
