Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit in Hillsborough, NC. This full-time role supports patient registration, scheduling, and front-desk operations to ensure a positive patient experience.

The position involves assisting with patient transport, documentation, insurance verification, and coordination of care in a mobile radiology setting. CPR is required prior to hire and a driver’s license may be needed, with potential local travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answer all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• May verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
• Perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures.
• Transport patients to/from the exam room and assist with transfers.
• Prepare and maintain patient records and documentation.
• Ensure accuracy of patient visits in electronic systems and written documents.
